Questions, answered.
Do I need to bring my own container?+
Yes — any clean, reusable container works: ice-cream tubs, glass jars, Tupperware, even a 2L bottle for oil. The machine weighs the empty container first, then only charges you for what's dispensed.
How do I pay?+
Three ways: tap your free Nala RFID card, scan the QR code on the machine with this app, or dial *120*NALA# from any phone — no data needed.
Is there a minimum spend?+
No. Buy R5 of sugar for tonight's tea, or R500 of maize meal for the month. You only pay for the grams you dispense.
Where do I get an RFID card?+
Free at any participating spaza or campus residence. Bring your ID — your card is linked to your Nala account so you can top up from the app.
What if the machine is empty or broken?+
The app shows live stock levels and machine status before you walk there. Our field team refills machines weekly and responds to faults within 24 hours.
